Bouncely terms

Last updated: November 8, 2026

Bouncely ("Bouncely: Block Customers" on the Shopify App Store) is operated by Prodo Labs ("we", "us"). These terms apply to merchants who install Bouncely. Installing or using Bouncely means you accept them.

The service

Bouncely stops people a merchant has blocked from completing online checkout in that merchant's Shopify store. It applies to online checkout, accelerated checkouts such as Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal, the cart, draft orders and B2B checkout. It does not apply to point-of-sale orders, subscription renewals, orders created by other apps or marketplace imports, or order edits. Matching uses the details the merchant enters; a buyer who uses entirely different details is not blocked.

Merchant responsibilities

Merchants decide whom to block and are responsible for having a lawful basis to do so, for the accuracy of the details they enter, and for telling their customers how their data is used, including in their own privacy policy. Merchants must not use Bouncely to discriminate on the basis of a protected characteristic.

Merchants handle questions from buyers about being blocked. We don't review, change or override a merchant's list on a buyer's behalf. Merchants can contact us for help with their list.

Data processing

Bouncely processes buyer personal data on the merchant's behalf and only to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy. We help merchants answer data requests, keep the data secure, and tell affected merchants without undue delay, and within 72 hours of becoming aware, if a security incident involves their customers' personal data.

When Shopify passes us a customer's deletion request, the merchant instructs us to delete that person's readable details but keep their fingerprints and block reason so the block stays in effect, as the privacy policy describes. The merchant can unblock the person at any time, which deletes the entry completely.

Plans

Plans are billed through Shopify. Changing plans never unblocks anyone. If a store is over its plan's limit, everyone stays blocked and no one new can be added until it upgrades or unblocks someone.

Availability

If Bouncely's checkout check cannot run, checkout continues normally rather than blocking every buyer. Bouncely is provided as is, without a guarantee that every blocked person will be stopped.
